FAQs

Can anyone use these products?

Yes! Although we formulated thinking about the needs of women as they age the products can be used by anyone. From men looking to make their skin look better to younger people looking for a good quality trustworthy effective skincare line.

How long does it take to see results on my skin?

The key to a good skincare regimen is consistency and patience. You are looking for long-term benefits not short-term solutions.

You will see your skin look more hydrated, glowy and brighter after using products for a few weeks. Benefits related to tightening and improvement in wrinkles and discoloration take 4 months or longer of consistent use of our products.

How do I combine these products with prescription creams from my Dermatologist?

Your prescription cream typically should be applied first after washing and drying your skin. Allow it to penetrate for a few minutes then apply our Vidaderma product on top of it. Vidaderma products also layer well on top of each other.

The order of application should typically be:

  1. Cleanser
  2. Serum
  3. Moisturizer
  4. Sunscreen
  5. Makeup

Allow each product to absorb for a few seconds before applying next product.

Don’t overcomplicate your regimen. Stick to basics and what is needed by your skin.

If I have sensitive skin how to avoid irritation?

Most of our products are well tolerated by people with sensitive skin. People with sensitive skin have to incorporate products slowly to allow their skin time to adjust. Start with our gentle cleanser, one of our sunscreens and a moisturizer.

We carry 3 moisturizers:

  • The Restorer and The Hydrator are well tolerated by people with sensitive skin.
  • The Hydrator feels lighter and restorer is heavier.
  • The Age Eraser moisturizer has a lot of actives which tend to be well tolerated but can be irritating to people with very sensitive skin. In that case, use it every other day alternating with one of the other moisturizers.

Some of our products contain retinol (The Reverser and The Eye/Neck Complex) or vitamin C (The Booster and The Age Eraser) which can be irritating to sensitive skin. Our formulation for those actives can still be tolerated by sensitive skin. The key is to start them twice a week and bump up the frequency as tolerated.

Are products going to give me acne breakouts? Can I use them in oily skin?

Our products can be used by people with active acne, prone to acne or oily skin.

Our exfoliator pads are great for acne prone skin. Our sunscreens, serums, and moisturizers are non-comedogenic and won’t break you out. Avoid our Restorer moisturizer as it may be too occlusive for very oily or skin with significant acne which is not being treated. The Tint and Clear Sunscreens do not leave skin oily and are also non-comedogenic. Our vitamin C serum (The Booster), retinol serums (The Reverser I and The Reverser II), and The Eye Refiner Duo are also great for oily skin.

How do I choose between moisturizers?

All our moisturizers are very hydrating and restore skin barrier.

  • The Restorer is our heavy moisturizer and great for people with dry skin.
  • The Hydrator is our light yet very hydrating moisturizer good for all skin types.
  • The Age Eraser moisturizer is great for people aged 40 and up looking for one product that has all necessary skin nourishing ingredients in one product. Can be combined or alternated with other moisturizers.
Do the sunscreens contain moisturizer?

No. They are mineral or physical sunscreens which typically don’t contain a moisturizer. We recommend you apply them after a moisturizer or our hydrating Plumper serum. Products can be applied alone if the skin is not dry.

What are some good products for men looking to refresh their skin?

Men typically have thicker, oilier skin and are looking for improved pores, wrinkles, and the eye area. In the morning, use our cleanser (The Wash) and The Clear Sunscreen. In the evening use The Reverser II serum followed by The Hydrator moisturizer and The Eye Refiner Duo.

If you have brown discoloration, consider using The Brightener pads in the morning before sunscreen.

Which retinol/reverser serum should I use?

If you have more sensitive skin start with The Reverser I every other night followed by a moisturizer.

If you have thicker, oilier skin start with The Reverser II serum every other night followed by a moisturizer.

If you are very sensitive, try starting The Reverser I serum once a week at night and slowly increase it to eventually every other night. Even once a week usage can be very beneficial longterm.

I usually get burning and irritation from vitamin C serums. Can I use the Vidaderma vitamin C serum called The Booster?

Our vitamin C serum is esterified, fat soluble and hence less irritating and lasts longer on the skin allowing for less frequent use. If you have sensitive skin it can be tolerated but use it every other day.

Very sensitive people may not tolerate it. If you are very sensitive and want to try a vitamin C in your skincare, consider our Age Eraser moisturizer which has a smaller concentration of vitamin C and use that every other night initially.
