The protocol I use on my own face.
Why Regimens Outperform Single Products
The science behind the regimen.-
01
Every other night, not every night
Retinoid nightly produces the same skin you'd have at every-other-night use in most patients — but with more cumulative irritation, more downtime, and worse adherence. The off-nights aren't lost; they're recovery. -
02
Eye and neck age 5× faster
Both areas have thinner skin, fewer sebaceous glands, and more movement. They show aging at fractional time scales compared to the rest of the face. A dedicated cream addresses that directly. -
03
Multi-active layering at PM
On retinoid nights, the phytoestrogen-supported cream goes on top — buffering the retinoid while delivering its own actives. This is why you can use a retinoid this consistently without barrier compromise. -
04
Comprehensive, not maximal
This protocol is what's measurably useful — not what's possible. There are products I could add. I don't, because the marginal benefit drops off sharply past this point and the risk of barrier compromise from product layering rises.

The Protocol · Two Routines
Each step, and why it's there.
MORNING REGIMEN
STEP 1 Cleanse: THE WASH
""Gentle cleanse to start. Even a healthy barrier benefits from a non-stripping wash — and any aggressive cleansing in the morning undoes the overnight repair work."
- Dr. Colombo
Step 2 Hydrate: THE HYDRATOR
"Hyaluronic acid and ceramides for daytime hydration that holds. The Hydrator is lightweight enough to go under sunscreen without pilling, and substantive enough that skin stays comfortable through the day."
- Dr. Colombo
Step 3 Protect: THE DEWY TINT SUNSCREEN
"14% zinc with iron oxide for visible-light protection. SPF is the single most important anti-aging product I use — and the dewy tint replaces foundation on most days, which means it actually gets applied generously enough to matter."
- Dr. Colombo
EVENING REGIMEN
STEP 1 Cleanse: THE WASH
"Remove the day's sunscreen and pollution. One pass is enough — what most patients call a 'second cleanse' is just over-cleansing in disguise."
- Dr. Colombo
Step 2 Renew (Every Other Night): THE REVERSER I
"Gentle HPR retinoid for collagen support and cell turnover. The every-other-night schedule is deliberate — it delivers the same long-term results as nightly use with substantially less cumulative irritation and barrier disruption. The off-nights are when repair happens."
- Dr. Colombo
Step 3 Treat & Restore: THE PHYTOESTRO AGE ERASER
"On retinoid nights, this goes on after the serum to buffer and treat. On off nights, it's the entire treatment layer. Phytoestrogen-supported peptides, ceramides, and antioxidants — built specifically for skin in or approaching the hormonal transition."
- Dr. Colombo
Step 4 Eye & Neck: THE EYE NECK COMPLEX
"The two areas that show age first. Thinner skin, fewer oil glands, more constant movement. A dedicated cream isn't optional after 40 — and the face can look ten years younger than the neck without one."
- Dr. Colombo
WHAT TO EXPECT
The protocol becomes maintenance, and the results compound. Patients on this regimen for two years or more consistently look measurably younger than peers.
